Step-by-step guide
Phone and PC on the same Wi-Fi. The fastest transfer possible.
When both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, QuickBridge creates a direct local connection between the two browsers. No internet bandwidth involved, no upload step, no server. Files move at whatever speed your router allows.

What you can transfer in one session
Five steps to connect and transfer
- 01
Open QuickBridge on your PC or Mac
Go to quickbridge.app in your browser. A QR code and 6-digit PIN appear. Both devices on the same Wi-Fi gets you the fastest direct connection, but it also works across different networks.
- 02
Connect from your phone
Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, or open quickbridge.app on your phone and enter the 6-digit PIN. The transfer page opens on your phone.
- 03
Verify the connection
Both screens show a matching emoji code. On the same Wi-Fi, QuickBridge creates a direct local connection between the two browsers. Verify the codes match before sending.
- 04
Send files in either direction
Either device can send. Drag files from your PC into the browser tab, or use the file picker on your phone. The session stays open for both directions. No need to re-scan for a return transfer.
- 05
Receive and save
Files arrive as browser downloads on the receiving side. Enable auto-save on the PC to skip the per-file prompt and receive files directly to a folder you choose.
How the connection type affects speed
| Scenario | Connection type | Typical speed |
|---|---|---|
| Both on same 5 GHz Wi-Fi | Direct P2P (local) | 50-200 Mbps |
| Both on same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi | Direct P2P (local) | 20-80 Mbps |
| Different networks (TURN relay) | Relay via server | Limited by internet upload |
